"Beep The Robot" ("Beep," "the App") is a children's interactive game built by an independent developer. We take your family's privacy seriously — especially because Beep was made for kids. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google display name and email address. This information is stored in Firebase and used solely for account management, purchase verification, and session tracking.
Purchase information. In-app purchases are processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We receive a confirmation that a purchase was completed, but we do not receive or store any payment card numbers, billing addresses, or other financial details.
Usage analytics. The App records how it is actually used — when a session starts and ends and how long it lasted, taps on Beep, voice commands recognised, which missions and games came up, which language was chosen, whether microphone or camera permission was granted, and the steps of the upgrade and purchase flow. We use this to see which parts of Beep children actually enjoy and to find the parts that are broken. It never includes what your child said or any camera image — only that an interaction happened.
These records are written to our own database (Firebase Firestore). There is no third-party analytics service involved. Each record carries a random identifier that the App generates and stores on the device the first time it runs — it is not an advertising identifier, and not a device, hardware or phone identifier. If you are signed in with Google, your account identifier is attached as well, so records can be linked to your account and deleted with it (see section 6).
Where you came from. If you reached Beep through one of our own promotional links, the App stores the campaign tags on that link (for example, which video it was) so we can tell which of our posts brought families in. These are labels we put on our own links — not an advertising identifier, and nothing supplied by any advertising network. Only the first such link is recorded.
Camera. The App uses the device camera in two different ways, and they are worth separating clearly.
Reacting to your child — detecting smiles, waves and hand gestures so Beep can respond — happens entirely on-device using local machine-learning models. Those camera frames are never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
Looking at something on purpose — when your child asks Beep to look at what they are holding, or plays a “show me something blue” game — works differently. In that case, and only in that case, the App captures a single still image and sends it to our AI provider (Anthropic) so that Beep can answer. The image is used to generate that one reply. We never save it and never log it, and we never attach your child's name or your email address to it. Our AI provider does not retain conversation content by default and never uses it to train its models; like any provider, it may keep material that its automated safety systems flag. Beep never asks a child to take or upload a photo; the frame is captured automatically at the moment of the request.
Microphone. The App uses the microphone for voice interaction via the device's built-in speech recognition. The audio itself is handled by your device or its operating system speech service and is never recorded, stored, or sent to our servers. What your child says is turned into text on the device, and that text is then sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate Beep's reply, handled exactly the same way as the images described above.
No advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics or tracking services are integrated into the App. The usage analytics described in section 1 are our own and stay in our own database.
The App is designed for use by children and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described in this policy. A parent or guardian must authorize Google Sign-in and any purchases.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without proper consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Account data is retained only while your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon request, we will delete your data from Firebase within 30 days — including the usage-analytics records described in section 1 that are linked to your account.
We use industry-standard security practices provided by Firebase and Google Cloud to protect stored data. Audio never leaves the device, and camera frames leave it only for the deliberate “look at this” requests described in section 2. Everything sent to our AI provider travels over an encrypted connection. None of it is stored on our servers, and none of it is used to build a profile of your child or to train an AI model.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
